All in all, Bornholm is a miniature version of Scandinavia with a special flair. An island with history¨ You have here in many places the best possibilities to experience something special: For example, if you come across the impressive Hammershus castle ruins, hike on the imposing Hammerknuden, climb Paradise Hill with the erratic block, take a boat trip with the mail boat from Svaneke to the archipelago Ertholmene and the famous island Christiansø, when you are told something about the geological history in the Bornhom Nature Center in Åkirkeby, finally, when you visit the art museum, beautifully situated on the Helligkom cliffs and of course see the round churches, which are among the most culturally and historically interesting contributions of Bornholm. Østerlars church is the largest and most beautiful of its kind. Nylars is the best preserved, while Nyker is the smallest.
