When I welcome you as my guests in this new apartment house, I also welcome you to my hometown and — to a certain extent — to my family's history. More than 40 years ago my parents opened the Antikhaus Insam and thus I spent my entire childhood in the heart of the Regensburg old town between antique furniture and medieval walls. I feel strongly connected to my hometown, but one of my other great passions is travelling. Thus I spent my time as a university student travelling many cities on all continents. While doing so and having many adventures, I always missed a real haven to rest. Hotels usually offer luxurious amenities and comfort, yet apartments offer independence and freedom. An encounter with both didn't happen too often. Therefore I came up with the idea for the Domresidenz, which started with the refurbishment of the house a few years ago. I fulfilled one of my dreams with the Domresidenz and I hope I can offer my guests what I lacked and missed during my own travels. I am very pleased to welcome you to our Domresidenz! In the historical ambience of a newly renovated, medieval monument, three spacious suites with two bedrooms each on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors were carefully and sensitively created with a heritage conservation perspective in mind. The planning concept of the Domresidenz repeatedly takes up the dialectic of “modern building in an old environment”. Medieval stone robes and stone consoles with bow beams in the suites reflect the special charm and authenticity of this bygone era. In contrast to this, a unique, modern living ambience was created, which is showcased in an extraordinary interplay of modern interiors, tasteful design classics and selected antiques.

The three apartments of the Domresidenz are located in the immediate vicinity of the famous Regensburg Cathedral in the heart of the medieval old town, at the intersection of two historic streets, Tändlergasse and Kramgasse.
