Situated on the edge of Wernigerode’s Old Town and close to the railway station, this 3-star superior hotel stands within walking distance of the world-famous town hall, the castle and the marketplace. The newly renovated Altora Eisenbahn Themenhotel takes you back to the days of the steam engine. Its comfortable rooms are housed within connected, timber-framed buildings and a recently constructed extension. Diners at the hotel's atmospheric restaurant, 1835, can enjoy watching the steam trains outside while having their drinks delivered by miniature railway. Explore the scenery of the Harz mountains, enjoy a trip on the Bimmelbahn (a narrow-gauge steam engine), or go for a romantic ride by horse-drawn carriage.
