Have you ever wondered what it would be like to STOP TIME for a moment? Forget the constant hustle and bustle of city streets and stressful deadlines. Imagine a place where you could completely switch off for a week, a weekend or even just a few days. A place where you wake up to the sound of birds singing, with a view of the majestic Šumava Mountains, surrounded by nature. The Hillhouse – Where civilization meets nature It is located in a secluded area by the forest, on a hill in the picturesque village of Běhařov, just 10 km from the border of the magical Šumava Mountains. The surroundings offer a beautiful view that will capture your heart. What's more, the Hillhouse is designed to surround you with comfort, but at the same time bring you closer to nature. The garden of the Hillhouse received the Natural Gardens certification in September 2025, which we greatly appreciate because we strive to maintain the entire gardening concept in the greatest harmony with nature itself. The entire space is full of lush shrubs, flowers and perennial beds that attract bees and pollinators from the surrounding area, and to truly enjoy this beauty to the fullest, you can enjoy it, for example, by relaxing on very comfortable outdoor loungers. We also live on the adjacent and only plot of land, and our garden with a Finnish sauna and a swimming pool is of course also available to you. In the back part of the garden of the plot is also our Agnesina community school. Thanks to the spacious and thoughtfully arranged space, both objects – the Hillhouse and the community school – do not interfere with each other. The plot is divided by a house, fruit trees and a fence, which ensures a harmonious separation of the two parts. We are husband and wife Jiří and Kateřina Kraus with three children, and our long-standing dream was to offer people accommodation in solitude, with a beautiful view, which encourages them to rest and restart their thoughts from today's hectic days full of stress, because we ourselves have the privilege of living like this. The wish was sent and a few years later (specifically in October 2023) we bought the neighboring and only house with a garden next to ours and since then we have been trying to improve the whole lot for you so that you can fully enjoy your stay and feel cozy at the same time. With your stay, you will also support our other heartfelt project of Agnes' free school, because the freedom itself is about taking responsibility for ourselves and this is something we try to be example not only for our children, but also for the other.

1. Šumava Šumava is a paradise for nature lovers. Let yourself be enchanted by deep forests, mountain meadows and winding rivers. Go hiking, take a bike or simply relax by one of the picturesque Šumava lakes, such as Černé or Čertovo jezero. 2.Historic towns and monuments Klatovy: Just a short 15 km drive will take you to Klatovy, a picturesque town with the famous catacombs and the Black Tower, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view. Sušice: Stroll through the romantic streets of Sušice, known as the "Gate of Šumava", and discover its rich history. Domažlice: If you love history and traditions, Domažlice will completely captivate you. The festivities and local architecture are something you must experience. 3.Castles and chateaux Švihov Castle: A fairy-tale water castle, where the famous fairy tale "Three Nuts for Cinderella" was filmed. An ideal trip for families with children. Velhartice Castle: A beautiful historical residence surrounded by breathtaking nature. Castle ruins Herštejn, Rýzmberk in the Kdyně region - only 15 km away hidden in the forests. 4.Swimming and relaxation Aqacur Bad Kötzting: Year-round fun for children and adults - outdoor and indoor water world with wellness at folk prices and only 30 minutes by car. You won't be cold here even in a wet swimsuit, because the water and air temperature is more than welcoming and therefore entry is possible even with the smallest babies. Summer swimming pools Janovice nad Úhlavou and Nýrsko: water fun in salt water, the swimming pools are only 10 km away and also offer refreshments on site.
