NLS is attached to Gallery Leventi: Antique Maps & Prints: hundreds of original maps as well as prints dating back to the 16th century await the attention of the discerning guest. The collection is a proud achievement of the proprietor built over 20 years of traveling: the items were purchased from all around the world. Not a single part of the globe, without, an original print! Items available for sale. NLS decoration features an antique mahogany office desk as well as an antique dining table standing on four ornamental wood carved legs. Both fine pieces of furniture are decades old family property. Next door is a well stocked pharmacy - regularly visited by a former president of the Republic. Pandora & Zorbas bakery & delicatessen are only a couple of minutes away. The host has been traveling his entire life. He had lived for 12 years in the UK, two years in Tokyo, two years in Greece as well as former Yugoslavia. He is an avid learner of foreign cultures while at the same time very well versed in local history and politics. He has taught Cypriot guides. His doctoral thesis was on the political, social & economic history of Cyprus during the Second World War. Dr Leventis provides scheduled tailored made private historical/cultural/political/war tours of the island. He receives invitations to lecture around the world. Hobbies include year round swimming, gardening, olive picking, city/mountain walks, photography and wine tasting. As a family-run business, we very much welcome visitors who are interested to acquaint - if not to immerse - themselves in the local culture. (Lest we forget, the island boasts a 10,000 years old history!) A free bottle of locally produced finest wine, red or white, awaits the guest(s) at the dining table. The host is happy to offer a free few minute briefing on the town's landmarks. A bottle of wine makes more miracles than a church full of saints as the Mediterranean proverb goes!
