Before to land here in Costa Rica in November 1993 we have traveled a lot and under different "Hats" so we learned what is important as the traveler's point of view and explain that since 1994 we are on the other side of the picture for you and our pleasure.

Bijagua first settlers arrived here 1950, from San Ramon area (Near San José). At this time there were many plants of Bijagua (Calathea lutea) in this area, what gave its name to the village.
