ArteSana is a quiet, beautiful sanctuary and retire place, close to Santa Elena. Created as both a home and an artist's studio, ArteSana offers a peaceful, spacious space for rest, art and healing, with everything necessary, and a beautiful view of the Nicoya Peninsula, cloud forest and a sacred garden. Guests are invited to slow down, reconnect with nature and themselves, and if they wish, join spiritual and holistic experiences in the Garden of the Goddess, more than a simple tourist stay.

My name is Ana Ovares, I was born and raised in Monteverde and I have lived my whole life in this cloud forest. I am an artist and holistic practitioner, and I live on the property, where I spend my days creating ceramics, guiding gentle healing sessions, and caring for the Garden of the Goddess — the heart of our retreat space. It is my pleasure to welcome guests into this peaceful sanctuary. Our home and studio are creative, quiet, and deeply connected to nature. Whether you come to rest, to reconnect, or to join one of the simple spiritual or artistic experiences offered here, I hold the space with warmth, presence, and respect.
