Lyn and Peter welcome you to Strathearn Park Lodge. We designed and built Strathearn Park Lodge in the 90’s as a future retirement plan.
Lyn and I utilised business and Holiday trips looking at private hotels and bed and breakfasts, measuring and photographing different design aspects. Speaking to fellow guests and the facility operators.
Cutting from magazines and pasting with our photos into albums for reference.
It was the little things: spas looking to the outside, spa sides wide enough for a cheese platter and champagne bucket, of course this also made it convenient to get into the spa rather than struggling with those elevated sides often encountered.
The closed off verandahs, for each room, whilst it made the builder shudder, it took away the problem of people walking past your verandah and lack of privacy that most other facilities experience. It also allows you to leave your curtains open to wake up to a fresh country morning.
We come from the hospitality industry, but our aim was always to create a place where people could come and totally relax in the shortest time and that is probably the most common comment we get.
Come on up to Upper Hunter Country and find yourself amongst wilderness areas, distinctive wineries, world class, art communities, country pubs, Lakes, horse studs, historical homesteads, vibrant wildlife and good old fashioned country hospitality. Lying just north-west of Newcastle and south of Tamworth, Upper Hunter Country is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and a true country experiences.
Whether it is hiking or mountain biking, camping or fishing, touring or relaxing with a picnic, the only problem you'll find is squeezing it all into your visit.
Or just sit back and relax at one of our outstanding accommodation venues, enjoy a glass (or two!) of local Upper Hunter wines and treat yourself to a great meal at a large choice of cafes and restaurant throughout Upper Hunter Country.
