In 1983 we took over the "Praunsberglerische Haus" - this is the historic name of the Hallstatt Hideaway. All people told us that we are crazy. The house was not in good shape and close to everything needed to be reconstructed. Lucky I was - just 23 and gifted with the feeling that there is nothing in the world which can resist a high motivation guided by a vision, discipline, creativity and energy fueled by the power of the inner heart. Our kids grew up between tons of rocks as the house itself is build on pure rocks, concrete, wood and lots of motivated people - all our friend came and helped us over decades to bring this house in good shape. This kind of togetherness and love, vision and motivation is kept in the walls of the Hideaway. From 1998 to 2007 I made a pause and studied at the university of Innsbruck economics and made my PHD in system- and organization theory. After coming back I changed the approach and organized the huge change. Between 2009 and 2014 we reconstructed the house and the garden into the paradise our guests enjoy today. Whirlpool on the top terrace of the Penthouse and the new completely in wood build "Lovers Paradise" - a hut with samarium and sauna.
住宿信息
1740 emperor Maria Theresia sent her master of hunting to build a huge house in the middle of Hallstatt to show her presence. He build the house on top of two much older houses. Today you can stay in one suite which is older than 500 years with original floor and ceiling, doors from 1740 and customized handmade furniture part wise built with 500 years old wood. In 2010 and 2014 the house has been completely rebuild and renovated. Today you find the historic architecture combined with timeless design. All the furniture is handmade and designed for the Hideaway. We used delicate materials and worked with craftspeople from the region. One time a year we close and work on all details to keep them in the best shape for our guests and following generations. Hallstatt is a gift from our ancestors and we will do our best to keep it in best possible shape. We share it with our guests - together we take care for this heritage. With this model of responsible sharing our guests can enjoy the real Hallstatt-experience and take the beauty of it in their hearts home. And our kids can pass on this beauty to their kids. Together we take care for this little peace of living art.
周边信息
The Hideaway is positioned on the Hallberg overviewing the center of Hallstatt with a breathtaking scenery of the old houses, the mystery lake and the majestic mountains. It is the perfect place: totally quiet, surrounded by pure nature and at the same time in the center of one of the most beautiful places of the world overcrowded by people from the whole world who try to make their way threw the "Seestrasse". Our guests have the choice to dive into this stream of tourists or they stay away and follow their own curiosity, discover the romantic narrow alleys which lead them from the marked square to the catholic church and the "Beinhaus" - where it is easy to understand how the constricted room determines the daily life in Hallstatt. They follow the stairs to the "Marienruhe" enjoy the view and rest before "climbing" the Salzberg, which is a nice walk of close to an hour. The "Welterbeblick" is a platform which allows a really breathtaking view over the lake. The Saltmine should be the next station to realize the meaning of 7000 years of human civilization in this area. Back down in Hallstatt our guests enjoy our private beach which offers again quietness and peace.
