Welcome to the House of Dollma, a blend of timeless Albanian tradition and modern comfort nestled within the historic Castle of Kruja. Our guesthouse stands as a testament to over 300 years of the Dollma family heritage. Originally built on ancestral foundations, our recently renovated property preserves original stone walls and integrates historical artefacts, such as an old Turkish cannonball discovered during renovations.
Stay in rooms adorned with original stones and modern amenities, explore the beautifully decorated main lawn, and warm up by our cosy fireplace crafted from stones echoing the craftsmanship of Kruja’s artisans. The House of Dollma is where Albanian history and tradition are revived, offering you a unique cultural journey and a pleasurable stay.
周边信息
Even the road to the House of Dollma is a unique experience in itself. Walking on cobblestone roads older than 500 years, the same way our national hero Scanderbeg (Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu) walked every day in his historical defence against the Ottoman Empire.
In the immediate vicinity lies the Tekke of Dollma (Teqeja e Dollmës), an enduring symbol of faith and resilience bearing our family name, which survived Albania’s communist regime almost unscathed, adding to the rich history you’ll experience during your stay.
Additionally the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja and the Museum of Kruja lie both within the Castle's walls and within walking distance.
The peak of the Mountain of Kruja (Mali i Krujes) can be reached within 20 minutes (7,5 km, car transport) or alternatively for enthusiasts by hiking (around 2 hours hike).
The nearest airport is Tirana International Mother Teresa Airport, 18 km from our Guesthouse. The capital city of Tirana is situated just 34 km away, while the Adriatic Coast (City of Durres) is 43 km away. All reachable within an hour through ground transportation.
