Central Backpackers Hostel - Phong Nha has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and restaurant in Phong Nha. The accommodation offers evening entertainment and a 24-hour front desk. This is the best hostel in town, believe me - I tried. After staying one night I decided to go to a different hostel because I wanted less of a party vibe, but I came back to this hostel afterwards because I realized it has the best facilities. The beds are super comfortable and clean with curtains and shelf room, the dorm is quiet and very clean and an A/C was working in the room to insure comfortable temperature (fans also available), huge lockers, boiling hot water in the shower (though not sure if it runs out at some point) with great water pressure. The breakfast was an all-you-can-eat buffet with eggs made to order and even some fruit and vegetables. Also, there were many extra toilets and showers on the first floor so even if the en-suite in the room is occupied you can use them instead. I was very impressed with the facilities in this place, it's very rare in Vietnam. The staff was also super helpful with everything and spoke good English. Also, all the inter-city buses stop at this hostel so it's super comfortable when traveling to or from Phong Nha.

The location is quiet with a beautiful view from the river side garden. They offer free breakfast in the garden every morning which was so nice. They have a really good range of tours you can book through them! We had been looking ourselves online but after booking this place Tuyen Kindly forwarded me their tours and we saw the perfect one for a much better price than I was seeing online. They can also book buses for you. For us, we took the local bus to Dong Hoi and Tuyen called the driver for us to let them know where to pick us up :) They offer free bicycles! You can take a short ride into the town area where there are lots of nice restaurants and cafes and shops! They also do motorcycle rentals. Super clean place, friendly staff all around great :)

At the hostel, all rooms include a balcony with a mountain view. The rooms have a private bathroom fitted with a bidet and a hairdryer, while selected rooms also boast a kitchen equipped with a fridge. Host speaks great English and is super helpful. Pool looks appealing, is quite long but we didn't have a chance to try it, it was cold outside. There is a space to park motorbikes. Breakfast is tasty, you can choose from the menu and a nice lady will prepare them fresh just for you.

The units at the accommodation feature air conditioning and a wardrobe. Had a very nice stay at the Palm Lodge. Don't be put off by the lack of reviews. Our wonderful host, Hung, only very recently opened this hotel so that's why there are few reviews. Hung is a very friendly and helpful host, the rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, and the location is perfect - right in the center of the main strip. Overall would highly recommend!
