At Catba Buffalo Hostel each room comes with air conditioning and a safety deposit box. It's the best place I've ever stayed, I guess? The price seems impossibly low for everything included. Like breakfast in the morning, beer/barbecue in the evening, very clean modern rooms, super comfy beds, towels (for deposit, but you get it back). And the staff at the front desk is amazing! Ready to help with any question, arrange for your a taxi or whatever. I know for some people location was a bit of a problem, but I liked it staying out of town. Breakfast is included, dinner your can order right here at the hostel kitchen. If you wanna go party and explore night life, they have a bus that brings people to the town and back late in the evening/night (so at the hostel it's very quiet after 10:30pm). And then if you need to go somewhere just rent a bike right at the hostel (80k/day and they also have some real helmets, not those crappy caps!)

But what really sets this place apart is the incredible staff, especially the manager, Easy. He is the heartbeat of The Secret Garden—always leading by example, never just bossing people around. Whether it’s helping with day-to-day tasks or ensuring everyone from guests to staff is having a great time, Easy’s hands-on approach and positive energy are contagious. He’s someone you’ll remember long after you leave. The hostel is packed with activities that make it impossible to get bored. From daily themed nights (quiz night was my absolute favorite!) to the unique herbal foot bath, there’s always something fun to do. I loved the creative opportunities, like painting a mural for a free stay, and the chance to explore the island while earning free drinks and other perks. The boat tour I booked through the hostel was fantastic—well-organized, reasonably priced, and packed with memorable moments. What’s even better is that booking through the hostel costs the same as anywhere else, whether online or with other operators. Plus, booking through them earned me free drinks, which was a nice bonus! The Secret Garden is more than just a place to stay—it’s a community. It’s the perfect spot to meet fellow travelers, share stories, and create lasting memories. Whether you’re looking to explore, socialize, or try something new, this hostel has it all. Staff is super friendly, I got stuck in the Island for an issue with my transportation provider and not only did they help me sort it out, they booked a bed for me (the place was full at the time). Location is a bit off the touristic area but surrounded by local restaurants and cafes, the beach nearby is the best beach in town. Overall have a good experience staying there

With a shared lounge, the 2-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hostel has a terrace and city views, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. The staff is very attentive. From the restaurant to the bar, everyone is so kind with a very good recommendation. I was a bit surprised with the guy on skybar approached me asking if the cocktail was too strong. Food quality at the restaurant is a must try as it hard to find something at the same range. I love the dorm, very clean and well organized. Room is small but they take advance of every single corner to creat space putting things/luggages. Bed is super comfy.

The Staff and Owner are such soo lovely and friendly and the service is outstanding 💟 also the restaurant attached to the place is soo good very cheap seafood.

The cabin I stayed in exceeded my expectations: comfortable, clean, and with impeccable facilities. The restaurant's food was also a huge plus: everything I tried was delicious. Without a doubt, this is a place I would choose again. Highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic and relaxing experience in Cat Ba.
