This location does add about 4-5km to your pilgrimage from Valença but it is well worth the extra distance. We started out in the cold rain but and ended up spending most of our pilgrimage in the cold rain but I could always hear Ana’s encouraging words to just embrace whatever comes and we did! Sparklingly clean, wonderful host who absolutely makes you feel at home. They helped me with everything I needed and also completely gave me space to unwind and decompress. Clean fully equipped kitchen, free coffee and milk, and tea, and snacks and treats for sale (chocolate, wine) and space in the fridge. There is an outdoor area to sit, but its so perfectly located - right on the camino when you first arrive in esposende and and just about a hundred meters from all kinds of shops, coffee, plaza etc. There is a laundry across the street with fast and good washer and dryer. I stayed an extra day and washed my clothes, bought hiking poles and a better backpack ( mine was terrible) - everything was available and easy to get too. I bought groceries and cooked and saved money that way. The room was suprisingly huge, and there was a blessed SPACE HEATER that kept my room nice and toasty in cold november. Truly excellent. If I ever come back to Esposende I will definitely stay here again.
