This place is so amazing! Even though it's on the other side of the island, so more away from all the touristy places, I loved this place. The host was amazing, welcoming me very late in the evening. I had my own room and the view from the terrace was stunning (ocean, vawes, nature). I liked how calm and quiet it was there, and because I had a car, it was no problem to travel all around the island from the hostel. It wad clean, and interior was really cool too!

29 Madeira Hostel set in the centre of Funchal, Madeira Island. The property offers budget accommodation in dormitories and private rooms. The location was great, right in the old center and accessible by bus from Funchal Airport. There were plenty of nice restaurants and supermarkets nearby. There was a nice common area for relaxing. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Really great value as well!

I was here twice, the staff was great, the location was excellent, such a friendly, kind vibe. This place attracts nice guests! Amazing views of the ocean, walking distance to one of the nicest beaches on the island. The first time i stayed in the dorm, there are a few dorm rooms, one has issues (the one i stayed in) it was okay, gave some feedback to the staff to make it even better. The second time i stayed in one of the tents, IT WAS PERFECT!!! Gorgeous, comfy bed, chair, tent, private bathroom, super well kept, private porch, fan and AC(!), one of my BEST tent experiences ever! It’s really glamping.

Fantastic hostel we unfortunately could only stay for one night. We arrived late at the airport but late self check-in was no problem at all. We had a private room with private bathroom on the first floor which was very quiet and had two comfortable beds. Bed linen and towels were nice and fresh. The breakfast at Jaca cafe was exceptional with fresh fruit juice, toast, cheese, jam, scrambled eggs, cake, granola joghurt with lovely roasted nuts and three different types of fresh fruit. Loved it 😻 Another plus: we needed somewhere to leave a bag during our multi day hike - Jaca hostel charges you 5 euros/day and keep your bag in their storage:) Unfortunately Jaca hostel in Porto da Cruz was fully booked - with any vacancies this would have been my option number 1. Thank you sooo much dear Jaca team ;)

The room and bathroom were very good and spacious. We did not meet the staff as we arrived pretty late. But the staff from the bar downstairs were AMAZING!!!
