Wild Kea Lodge Franz Josef offers a modern accommodation across three wings in the Franz Josef Glacier Village, just a10-minute drive from Franz Josef Glacier and 30-40 minutes for Fox Glacier. The staff is extremely helpful, the lodge offers lots of complementary services (popcorn, soup, bikes) and the location is perfect even if, like me, you don't have a car.

Writing as a part time wheelchair user and walking stick user. This feels like a home and a group of people just enjoying each other's company. As a smaller hostel, the family running it do a fantastic job. Lots of travellers come back here and I can see why. You feel at home and like you are very welcome to come back. Very colourful and clean. Staff and guests were very friendly and the free shuttle service from the station was a game changer for me. I came as a last minute thing and informed the team of what I might benifet from. Jacinda wrote back derailing exactly the steps and ramps and what might be tricky for me so I could navigate it and work it out. Making access is really clear for me. Thank you would love to stay again! Beds so comfy and clean really nice vibe of the whole place.

Everything, my room was fantastic, had everything I needed, was nice and quiet, felt like I was the only one in the building at points but I wasn't, the kitchen had some complimentary things for people but my room had everything I needed so I only ventured out for the bathroom and laundry

Situated in Marahau, Kanuka Ridge Lodge is a short drive to the beach, the cafes, restaurants and the start of the Abel Tasman National Park. Free unlimited WiFi and private parking. We loved this place. The owners are so kind and helpfull. The room was spacious enough and the shared kitchen very clean.

Last Light Lodge worked seamlessly and actually enhanced this fabulous walk. Food was outstanding. Violaine and Craig have created an incredible offering, with an abundant garden supplying the kitchen they create generous delicious meals that were an absolute highlight of our holiday. Rooms at the LLL are very well appointed - comfortable beds, quality linen, immaculately clean with big windows looking out on gardens and Birdlife. Shared bathrooms are modern, clean and convenient with plenty of hot water and great showers - so important post hike! Finally, we couldn't fault the friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble. Great communication. Did I mention the packed lunches?? - don't miss them, or the breakfast! Really can't speak more highly of the Last Light Lodge.
