The location couldn’t be better — just a few minutes away from both Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, and also very close to the main town, restaurants, and shops. It’s convenient yet peaceful, surrounded by greenery and a relaxing atmosphere. The room was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated with an aesthetic touch that made it feel warm and homely. The bed was super comfortable, and everything was well maintained. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, a perfect start to the day before exploring. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with anything I needed. The owner, Isu, went above and beyond — he arranged a village tour and a Kaudulla safari for me, both of which were incredible experiences that gave me a real taste of local life and nature. The entire hostel has such a good, positive vibe — it feels more like staying with friends than at a hotel. I had such a great time here and will definitely visit again on my next trip to Sigiriya. Highly recommended to anyone looking for comfort, great location, and genuine hospitality!

The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. When I arrived I was welcomed by the family (with 2 kids) with some nice tea. Afterwards the husband propsed to do a free scooter tour and we’ve passed some beautiful sights, including the secret lake where you had a view on both the Pidugala rock and the Lion rock. They also were helpful for tuktuk drives (paid) at any arranged hour. In the room I was the only one so I could choose a bed. The bed was comfortable and had a musquito net. There was also 1 fan in the room and the bathroom was specious en clean. In the morning I also got served some delicous breakfast. Would really recommend this place because of the location, value for money, delicious food and the hospitality of the family.

The units at Funk Bunks - Sigiriya feature air conditioning and a desk. Since the moment I arrived through the jungle path to this hostel everything was just amazing. Great and cool location (rent a bike there!! Great way to see the area). Comfy beds and nice facilities. They have it all! Tasty free breakfast and dinner for socializing, bar for drinks, organized activities, bike rental, laundry service and nice drivers you can ask for a ride (to Dambulla maybe?). And the best brunch spot called cappuccino bistro in walking distance. This hostel also really went all the way for me on my 27th birthday and organized a surprise birthday party for me with cake and everything! I felt so special and it was so nice of them. The whole stay (3 nights) the staff went all the way for guests. <3

The place is clean and comfortable, breakfast was always delicious, and the one dinner I had there turned out to be the best meal of my trip — tasty, generous, and great quality. What really made it special was the people. Maliya was so kind and helpful, always there if I needed anything. He even took me to a beautiful sunset spot nearby and walked me to the bus stop when I checked out. Those small gestures really meant a lot and made the stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

The host was incredible – he ordered and organised things for us, gave us loads of tips about the local area, and even went above and beyond when my friend left her bag at a bus stop. He actually tracked it down and drove it back to us! His whole family were so kind and welcoming, which made us feel completely at home. Breakfast was amazing every morning, and the beds were huge double bunks, super comfy after a long day exploring. Honestly, the host and his family made the trip for us – such a special place to stay
