Afterwards the husband propsed to do a free scooter tour and we’ve passed some beautiful sights, including the secret lake where you had a view on both the Pidugala rock and the Lion rock. They also were helpful for tuktuk drives (paid) at any arranged hour. In the room I was the only one so I could choose a bed. The bed was comfortable and had a musquito net. There was also 1 fan in the room and the bathroom was specious en clean. In the morning I also got served some delicous breakfast. Would really recommend this place because of the location, value for money, delicious food and the hospitality of the family.

If you are very uncomfortable with insects or wildlife, this may not be the right fit — or you may prefer a higher-end property designed to be more sealed from the surrounding environment. It’s also worth noting that Wi-Fi can be spotty depending on where you are on the property, and mobile signal does not reliably reach the area. This means you are quite disconnected, which some guests will love and others may find challenging. The staff went above and beyond to help in this regard — they even relocated the router to my dorm, which I happened to have to myself. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay with great hospitality.

The units at Funk Bunks - Sigiriya feature air conditioning and a desk. We had an amazing stay at Funk Bunk in Sigiriya! The manager, Nishan, was super friendly and such a great guy. Our TukTuk driver, Samith, was always cheerful and full of positive energy. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the kotthu they prepared for us on the second night, with an incredible sauce! The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Unfortunately, some monkeys damaged the roof of our first room, and it started raining inside, but Nishan immediately took care of it, helped us move to another room, and even offered us a small discount. Everything was handled so quickly and kindly. Funk Bunk is truly a hidden gem with wonderful people! The famous Pidurangala and Lion Rock are close by and they offer to drive you there by tuktuk early in the morning for sunrise or in the evening for sunset. We would definetely recommend to stay at Funk Bunk Sigiriya!

The place is clean and comfortable, breakfast was always delicious, and the one dinner I had there turned out to be the best meal of my trip — tasty, generous, and great quality. What really made it special was the people. Maliya was so kind and helpful, always there if I needed anything. He even took me to a beautiful sunset spot nearby and walked me to the bus stop when I checked out. Those small gestures really meant a lot and made the stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!
