I had such a lovely stay at this place, I stayed an extra night :) the rooms are peaceful and comfortable with big lockers and amazing hot showers (best shower I’ve had in Sri Lanka), perfect after a cold hike or long journey. What makes is place special is definitely the hosts - they are so welcoming and kind, I felt at home and very well looked after - they helped me arrange transport to Horton plains and made me a breakfast for the hike, and arranged dinner for me when I was disorganised… As a solo traveller I really enjoyed the company of the other nice guests and Haran, I can only recommend this place

Stunning views, amazingly helpful owner, hot water with great pressure in the shower. Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The wifi was not as strong in the room, but he is working on fixing it. If you like walking, everything is in walking distance but it is uphill so it might be worth getting a taxi on arrival with the luggage.

Very nice and clean room. Beautiful tea plantation around. The owner was very nice he gave us tea when we arrived and let us chill on the roof.

I had a great time with Prasad and his family. The food here tastes great and is traditionally prepared. The room is well equipped, the bed is comfortable and I even had my own tea corner with a boiler. The accommodation is not centrally located. So you have to think twice about whether you need anything else from the city before travelling to the accommodation. On the other hand, you are right in the countryside and there is no city noise. He is a wonderful host and I can recommend him to all travellers in Sri Lanka. Thank you for letting me stay with you, Prasad :)

Just stayed at 176 Hostel and absolutely loved it! The location is perfect — close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-designed, giving that warm, local vibe. The in-house restaurant is also worth mentioning; it serves great food with friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Staff very accommodating. Tea is free as long as it's black. Food is served here also, with very reasonable price. Very clean, stylish common area good location to meet other backpackers and socialise, but not a party hostel so can enjoy the sleep at night.
