A very social hostel with a great atmosphere and a great staff. The manager is very kind and helpful, he gives us many tips on things to do on the area and takes us to surfing lessons in the morning if we want. In the evening we all gather around a tasty family dinner cooked by the staff. There's even a skate park in the hostel ! Good location at 15min by walk from town-center and close to several beach in a quiet stress ! Bathrooms and dorms are clean with fans above each bed or AC. I highly recommend this place !

So, me and 2 of my friends were travelling for a long weekend getaway and you won't believe the hospitality and the perfection of this property. Truly something to be rewarded and justified! Me and my friends had quite a dilemma when we were booking the place for our trip. But, man oh man did it turn out well! So, our booking was from Saturday to Monday which means Saturday check in, Saturday night, Sunday night - Monday check out. Now, this weekend was a long weekend and everyone was travelling. We are locals travelling from Colombo to Arugam Bay and we didn't have transportation sorted out for us. Our vehicles were being used over the weekend and we had to use the public transport. There is no train to Arugam Bay from Colombo as far as we researched but there are buses. The buses were booked too. We somehow managed to get seats. The buses operate at night which means you board in Colombo around 7 PM and you land in Arugam Bay at around 4 - 4:30 AM. This is the daily route for the bus. So, if we want to get there Saturday - we must get there Saturday early morning at 4. We just booked that bus and we were on our way to Arugam Bay Friday night So, it all starts with the host. Since, I booked and my number is on the booking. I got a call from a random number. I didn't answer cause I was travelling and my phone was on silent. It seems like I had missed calls from the same number. I just ignored it and kept travelling. After a while of listening to music, I just got an instinct to call this number (a good gut feeling). I called and it was a nice gentleman named 'Roshan' from the hostel and he was asking me what time I will arrive. I told him around 4. He asked me if I am coming by bus or train (seems like trains operate) haha. I said bus and he said, " 'NO PROBLEM. ONCE YOU ARRIVE, JUST COME IN TO THE HOSTEL AND SLEEP ON YOUR BEDS.

The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, luggage storage space and free WiFi throughout the property. wow! the wave loom hostel was one of the most cosy, familiar hostels i've ever stayed in. i only intended to stay for 2 days, but ended up staying for 6 - too good to leave. hansi, adam & co. were soooo caring and loving to create the best possible stay for all their guests. they know all their guests by name, help plan all activities and transport options, have the best surf instructor at the start - and on top of that they so lovingly provided me with medicine and tea when I felt sick. the rooms are super clean, cleaned every day, the bathroom is simple but clean (a little tip: a shelf to put your clothes and toiletry bag on while showering would be a gamechanger, hehe) there is air conditioning and a chilled common area - a great place to meet people from all over the world! the location is also great... so close to the beach and all the cute cafes, bars, boutiques and restaurants. great vibe!!! i would definitely come back! The property is non-smoking and is located 500 metres from Arugam Bay Beach. It had only just opened its doors and we were met with the warmest welcome from the manager who couldn’t do enough for us. Always went out of his way to accommodate us - sharing extra phone data with us, allowing late check - out due to work commitments, updating us to the air-con room because the fan room was under renovations but with no extra charge. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you so so much

I stayed here for two weeks and had a great experience! The place is super comfortable — the air conditioning, water, and Wi-Fi all worked perfectly the whole time. Both hosts are really friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome from the start. One of them is even a surf instructor, so you can also take surf lessons right there at a very affordable price. Definitely recommended!

The hospitality was exceptional, especially from Chloe, who manages the property with such warmth and care.
