It's a traditionally Japanese house, and all the facilities are traditional as well. It totally feels like home. The host is so nice. If I am gonna come back to Nagano for skiing or visit, I would absolutely stay here again.

Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

We were received and welcomed so warmly and the staff gave us a great overview about things to do in Nagano and surroundings. Everyone is so friendly and caring, really exceptional and we felt home straight away! We slept in the mixed dorm, it was very comfy and we felt to have a lot of privacy even though it was a dorm. Everything (common areas, rooms and toilets/shower) is very clean and you can see that there is a lot of love and detail put into everything. The location is perfect just a few walking minutes to the center and walkable distance from the train station. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back!
