The place is charming and our rooms were very comfortable and big. We met people from all over the world in the common areas. The staff was incredibly kind as well. Our daughter forgot her very dear doll in the bed and Elisabet and Laufey were kind enough to ship it all the way back to us. We were also able to visit the Puffin colony about an hour away from the hostel. Overall a wonderful experience.

All guest rooms at the hostel come with a shared bathroom and bed linen. This place was amazing, the family running the guest house were lovely and informative. We stayed in a lovely spacious room with a double bed and a window I was able to see the Aurora out of in late April. The kitchen and dining facilities were comfortable with large windows utilising the amazing location of the guesthouse. There was a fantastic 45min walk around volcanoes/frozen lakes with an amazing sunset. I was also able to see the aurora in late April which was impressive. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of local foods on display.

I have never stayed in anything like it. A little bit of the hospital atmosphere remains - old photos on the wall, used hospital buckets as garbage cans, the room is like a ward. But that added charm, unusualness. Clean, tidy, comfortable beds, huge kitchen, lots of dishes. The town is of fabulous beauty. I dream of coming here again.

Guests can enjoy mountain views. Absolutely lovely stay here, there is a beautiful cat there to greet you (Brossi I believe his name was). The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The shared kitchen and lounge area is very cosy and there are music instrument to play around with too.
