At the hostel all rooms are fitted with air conditioning and a shared bathroom. Literally couldn’t be better, hostel room was super cozy with complete privacy inside your bunk, and the public spaces were beautiful and really well kept. The photos don’t even do it justice, since they were taken all the surrounding plants and garden has grown into a lush jungle around the main building. One of the owners, Austin, was an absolute pleasure to speak with as are all of the rest of the staff and guests, truly a hub for brilliant people in one of the most untouched an beautiful places I have ever stayed. I can’t wait to come back to El Valle !!

The rooms are clean, beds with curtains and plenty of space in your private locker. If you want there’s private room options as well. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and lots of things free to use. Drinking water is for free as well. Chinola is cooking family dinners now and then and for just 300-400 pesos you’ll get an amazing meal. Location is nice, easy to walk to beaches and bars, Supermarkets near by and it feels safe even walking on my own at night time. People here try to give you the best experience: helping out with questions, connecting everyone in a WhatsApp group, going out together at night, joining dance classes together and first of all being super friendly and generous. I’m looking forward to come back soon.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fata Morgana in Las Terrenas, and it was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The property is set in a serene, idyllic location with lush surroundings that immediately put you at ease. A highlight for me was the presence of two friendly donkeys that roam the grounds—they added such a charming and peaceful vibe to the stay! I traveled without children but brought along my small dog, who was warmly welcomed. The proprietor was incredibly hospitable and multilingual, which made communication effortless. She’s also a certified tour guide for the Dominican Republic, and her local knowledge was invaluable. She even assisted us with arranging a car rental, which made getting around much easier. The accommodations are individual bungalows—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out with private bathrooms. I also really appreciated the communal kitchen and dining area, which included a lovely porch where guests could relax, cook, and connect. Fata Morgana has a calm, authentic charm that’s perfect for those looking to unwind and experience the true spirit of Las Terrenas. I would absolutely stay here again.
