The owner was so accommodating and stayed up after hours when I arrived at nearly 11 pm, and she booked a taxi and was up and making sure we got off to the airport at 4 am. She made me a hot tea at check-in in and the room had a privacy divider between me and the other beds in the room, and a fan was provided.

The units at Arenal Poshpacker feature air conditioning and a wardrobe. Chris, the owner, is so helpful! he helped me figure out the best tours for my circumstances, and even offered a lower price than any of the tour places around town. the beds are comfortable. some of the dorm rooms even have hot showers (8 bed/ room). there is a swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and hammocks. it’s a great place to meet friends, especially for solo travelers. Saturday nights are bingo nights at the bar. so much fun! it is central, easy to access all the restaurants and stores. there are lockers in the big dorm rooms (8 beds/room), but not in the small dorms (4 beds/room), but did not pose a problem for me.

This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.
