The hostel provides some units with garden views, and the rooms include a patio. When I was staying in Santiago I stayed in two different rooms in the Eco-Hostal Tambo Verde. Both were great with own "pros and cons". Suite with own bathroom "within the room" was upstairs. The cheaper other suite with separate but still own private bathroom was on the main ground floor with seats in front of the room in the "courtyard", which was nice. Both rooms had good heating, that was necessary to use in October nights. I think the beds, pillows and duvet covers were the most comfortable ones I have ever used. Even my own bed doesnt compete with them! The staff was excellent. Even though I was practicing my Spanish I felt comfortable talking to them either in Spanish or in English. Rooms had water bottles with filtered water. Clothes were washed with semi-perfumed detergent and were hanged to dry, which happened fast in the "courtyard". The staff warned that the drying of the clothes was dependent on the weather but I think it's great they don't use tumble dryer for it.
