I normally do not leave reviews but this was an exceptional stay and I wanted to express my gratitude to the staff of the hostel based on my experience. The members of the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful when I checked in. I notified them earlier of my early morning arrival and they responded that while check-in would be after lunch, they would have coffee and I could rest on the couch. They also said I could leave my stuff should I leave. When I arrived, they did have coffee and the lady at the reception checked if she could check me in earlier, and they did. I enjoyed the breakfast and it was very filling. The bed was very comfortable and they provide more blankets than you'll need. There was also a locker, with a lot of space to leave both of my backpacks. Even though I only stayed one night, they were kind enough to keep my luggage when I went to the southern part of the country. I really wanted to stay here when I got back from the south but there were no more available rooms/beds when I tried booking. If/When I come back, I definitely will book here again.

Raúl was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating, always ready to help with anything I needed. He answered all my questions with a smile, offered great recommendations, and went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. The location of the hostel is also perfect — steps away from the subway, and within easy walking distance of many of Santiago’s major attractions, parks, museums, cafés, and restaurants. It’s super convenient for exploring the city. The room and common areas were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and I felt very safe staying here. The combination of great service, ideal location, and overall comfort made this a fantastic choice. Huge thanks again to Raúl for making my stay so memorable — I would absolutely return and highly recommend Hostal Merced 88 to anyone visiting Santiago!
