Great sitting area after you finish making your food. Kitchen open all hours.
Carpark out back (albeit extremely limited), and staff can direct you to free parking elsewhere.

The location of this YHA is so nice, just a few steps you can arrive at the museum and the wharf. The staff here are very patient and helpful, especially Lixie, she really helped me a lot and gave me a lot of great tips on traveling in Hobart and Tasmania. Thank you very much ❤️

The staff are really nice and helpful, the hostel is well equipped and has a lovely atmosphere. The hostel activities are fun (we saw a platypus!) I would definitely recommend this hostel to young backpackers staying in Hobart.

This was a basic backpackers hostel with friendly staff and lovely young backpackers from around the world travelling Australia. We are two retirees in our mid sixties who had booked one of the new self contained chalets around the back. They were marvelous with clean, comfortabe rooms with fridge, microwave and ensuite. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Very impressed.
Swansea Backpackers was in a great location. Only a short walk from the main town and had a good breakfast and dinner option right next door. Our double room was comfortable and clean. The two men who (I assume) run the hostel are friendly.

Beautiful! Best hostel I have ever stayed in. Each bed as a charging station and light next to it and everything is clean and tidy. It really feels like a boutique hotel. The kitchen was always clean and the rooms quiet. I loved my stay here! Beautifully located in a historic part of town and very central
