Tilcara
Just 3 blocks from Tilcara’s main square, this hotel features heated country-style accommodation overlooking the Hills of Tilcara. It offers free WiFi access in public areas and a daily buffet breakfast. Antigua Tilcara received the Traveller Choice 2014 award from Trip Advisor. OMG I loved this hostel!!! I stayed here just for one night during carnaval (it was already booked on other nights but if I could I would definitely stay longer!). It’s more like a posada type of place, witb several private rooms and one dorm for 5 people. There are no bunk beds! Each bed is separate and there is plenty of space in between them so that you have your privacy. I loved that each bed has it’s own chest instead of the locker! But the best, THE BEST thing was breakfast!!! OMG!!! One THE VIEW, two SELECTION OF FOODS. I live in Argentina since a few years and I truly don’t want to insult anyone but usually breakfasts here are awful. You get a piece if old bread and a tiny pot of dulce de leche/ cheese paste or ungodly sween membrillo. But in this hostel 😍😍😍😍 There was full buffet! Eggs, two types of bread, budin, fresh medialunas, cereals, cheese, ham, fruit selection, two types of juice, tea selection, coffee, chocolatada and I’m sure that also other things that I forgot about. All the ladies who work here are the nicest, the friendliest and the kindest people ever. And I loved how there were giving you tips about the carnaval, safety issues and just in general letting you know what may happen. I LOVE THIS PLACE ❤️ Highly, higly reccommended!

Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. Guests can enjoy city views. The absolute best thing about this place is the lovely hug you get from Eleyna whenever you enter. She is the warmest most friendly person. Her son Facu is also really lovely and friendly too. They were always ready to help with any questions and even insisted on getting up in the middle of the night to help me call a taxi and say goodbye, despite my best efforts to say it wasn’t necessary. Additionally, the beds are comfy, the bottom bunks have curtains, the shower is always hot, the place is absolutely beautiful with lovely art and murals everywhere, and there is a kitchen. It’s in a quiet area and only a 30 minute walk to the centre. There was a nice area upstairs in the kitchen where it was easy to socialise and meet other travellers.

Great location, nicely decorated flat, comfortable mattresses and, most of all, Juan was a very welcoming and helpful host.
Great location, nice size private room and bathroom. The family is lovely.
The hostel had a nice cosy feel, the location was great, a ten minute walk into the town centre and to the bus station etc. but a little out of the centre so it was nice and quiet. Nice outdoors communal areas which I imagine would be lovely in summer but unfortunately it was too cold to use them most of the time! The breakfast was also great, nice selection of breads and fruits.
We only stayed one night, but this is one of the best hostels we stayed at so far! We arrived very late (2am), and the owner was still very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and basic, with live music from the owner itself. Definitely worth the price!
One of the best Hostel around. Very friendly staff. Perfect breakfast. Also exchange money with good rate. Thank you for everything
Cute hostel in a great location, welcoming staff that helped us organise our trip.
