It was in a super convenient location in the centre of Dumaguete, right opposite Victory Park. This allowed for easy access to both ports, and the Central Markets. All of the staff were incredibly kind, and the balcony, offering stunning views of the surrounding area with free drinking water and coffee was a bonus.

The apartment is family friendly. It's great that they've provided bunk beds in the other room to accomodate more family members. The wifi connection is fast. The caretaker is friendly and prompt in responding to our needs.

We came to see the whalesharks. Sharky Hostel is located 30 seconds walk from the main experience location. The staff are super friendly, helpful and made seeing the whalesharks super easy. Amenities aren’t the best, but I would give up all amenities for the locations and helpfulness of staff. The bamboo hut was a fun experience! Salamat!

basic room but great value for money. nice quirky 1 night stay for the whale sharks. whale shark place is a 1 minute walk away from the hostel. Ken who works at the Hostel is so good. so friendly and so happy to help you get to and from places.

We are happy with everything. Cha-cha is very nice, and her husband is a great singer 😆 there is everything you need for life for a very low price. There is a kitchen and recreation areas. The house is very beautiful. the room was small, but we only slept there, there is a lot of space on the territory for spending time.

Fabel Hostel somehow manages to feel social, relaxed, and genuinely caring all at once. They organise family dinners which make it incredibly easy to connect with other travellers, and the tours they run support local community businesses rather than generic mass tourism. You feel good staying here. The rooms are massive, air conditioned, clean, and genuinely comfortable, not just “hostel comfortable”. Scooters are available for hire which makes exploring the island effortless, and there is 24 hour security so you feel safe at all times. The owners and volunteers are an easy going, friendly bunch who clearly love what they do. There are also a few resident dogs who wander around offering cuddles, perfect if you are missing a bit of affection while travelling. I made some truly epic friends here, the kind you know you will stay in touch with long after you leave. What really sets this place apart though is the heart behind it. The owner went above and beyond for me at 4 am when I was unwell, and I will always be grateful for that kindness. That level of care is rare.thank you Ervin and team! If you are coming to Siquijor and not staying at Fabel, you are honestly doing it wrong.
