Decent price, close to the city center, near the University, a few minutes walk from the bus station, 10 minutes to the supermarket and the city center.
The very kind and friendly staff were there for any need, including suggesting trips or helping us with a taxi.
Special thanks to Julia, with whom we tried for two nights to meet Aurora and did not give up until we were successful!
I will come back to Longyearbyen with great pleasure and will definitely stay at Ruskiy Dom!

Our room was small but clean. We booked room for 4 people but was 3. Was ok for us. The bathrooms are enough and clean. The breakfast was rich for hostel. Everyday was the same but you can eat good. The kitchen and hall was common but the hostel is calm. In the window every morning we saw animals.

If coming to Svalbard this is by far the only budget accomodation available. Bearing in mind that it has no real competition, it is still nevertheless a very good hostel. Breakfast pancakes are great, staff are friendly, it is fairly sociable. The rooms are somewhat small, but the kitchen/social area is spacious enough, and in any case if you come to Svalbard for the bedroom then there's really little point.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Staff were so friendly and let me stay in the breakfast room till my taxi arrived.
I highly recommend this hostel and will definitely be booking them if I get the chance to visit again. :)
Free tea and coffee all day were a plus too!

Everything!
One of the best hostels I've ever stayed.
The toilets were always incredible clean and free. The rooms were bit small, but enough.
The breakfast was amazing!!
The view for the city was also amazing!
