Such a peacefull place to stay. Dar Afram was like our family during our stay in this beautiful city. The familiary vibe we’ve got here, in this house, didn’t let us stay only 2 nights (as planned), we stayed 5 nights and i can say after 2 weeks of Marocco (and now back in our regular lifes), our hearts are still in Essaouira, at Dar Afram’s place. This Riad has a traditional marrocan arhitecture, colourful an very cozy. The breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace with a nice view over the ocean and the buildings around. It was amazing and also very rich: bread, yogurt, fresh fruits, marmelade, traditional msemen, orange juice, butter, pancake, olives, tea, and we ate the best traditional couscous tajin in Marocco. This warm and sweet woman with her nice and kind friend gave us the feeling that we were at home, to our families. Unbelivable. We spend the evenings at the hotel, enjoying live music concerts with extraordinary musicians with great voice and guitar skills. We sang, we danced, we laughed and we had a great time in this place, we recomand it from the bottom of our heart. And we know for sure that we will come back again in this house of warm souls and beautiful people.

I had a lovely stay at La Smala! I’m the beds were comfortable with a large secure draw under to lock your luggage away. The staff made the stay however as all of them were so kind and friendly, going above and beyond for anything I needed. Especially Mehdi in on the rooftop bar! The breakfast was also delicious. The showers were a lot nicer than I expected, very private and always clean. I’d definitely come back to stay here if I visit in the future.

We loved the place so much we stayed an extra 2 nights. Top location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Incredible views, stunning sunrises and sunsets. We walked up to the sand dunes at Cap Sim, along the beach to Sidi Kaouki for lunch, so much to see. Felt connected to nature here, such a beautiful landscape. Perfect place to rest, relax, surf, hike, yoga, meditate or write.

Amazing value. Perfect location in the Medina and with the instructions, easy to find. Staff were friendly and very welcoming on arrival. The room was clean and comfortable!
