The Mermaid Hostel is a simple, yet peaceful and comfortable solution for anyone willing to spend some relaxing days in Trincomalee. It is located in a strategic area, making it easy to reach the most beautiful beaches and the main bars / shops of the area. Special mention for Kokul, the manager, who was extremely kind and responsive to any request. He definitely made our stay more pleasant and unforgettable!

This place is simply fantastic. It is super clean, new, and the location (2 minutes to the beach and all nice restaurants next to it) is fantastic! The highlight is the host, she is the most friendliest ever, helps with anything, speaks multiple languages. There is also free coffee, tea, and she often comes around with yummy fruits! You can also get great meals for the best price ever!

I had a wonderful stay at this guest house. The street is calm and feels very safe, which made coming and going super comfortable. Inside, the atmosphere is just perfect — warm, welcoming, and full of life without ever being too much. The presence of the aunts and children creates a homely, vibrant energy that makes you feel instantly at ease. It’s a great place to relax, whether you're solo or with friends. The guest house is dog-friendly, and their two adorable dogs add to the warm, welcoming vibe. Losan also organized several great activities for us — snorkeling, diving, sunset outings with guests from a friendly guest house, and even some lovely apéros. It really helped create a fun and social atmosphere without ever feeling forced. I had both breakfast and dinner during my stay — everything was delicious! Special mention for the spicy biryani: full of flavor and absolutely satisfying. This place strikes the perfect balance between being alive and peaceful — ideal for anyone looking to recharge without feeling isolated. 100% recommend this place!

What a kind host! All I wanted was a after a really long and stressful day of riding a lassi…Lali just went shopping and made me one in the night I arrived! It’s a great spot to stay, thank you very much ☺️
