We had an incredible stay at Kottamba Villa in Tangalle! From start to finish, our host Lushan went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. They need better pictures to truly do justice to the property, it's extremely beautiful with the balcony overlooking the ocean and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves is magical. It's definitely the best hostel I've stayed at in Sri Lanka. The hostel is also really clean, everyone I met there wanted to stay there longer and most of us did end up extending our stay. Sachi, who runs the hostel, is a great host and the vibes are extremely warm and befitting to Tangalle's laid back beach vibe. They clean the washrooms and the rooms every day and the staff is really sweet.

The host and location were fantastic, situated right by the entrance to Medaketiya Beach with safe swimming area and close to the stunning Mangrove Beach and national parks. The service was unexpectedly excellent, and the breakfast offered a variety of delicious options for the price. Best lassi in this area.

Lovely, comfortable hostel run by a friendly local family who were incredibly helpful and kind. The beds were large and comfortable, the property was clean and easy to get to, and it was very affordable. Tangalle is a deeply underrated destination on the south coast for relaxing beach time and great food.

Amazing accommodation for affordable price. Large porch for chilling and exercising was a huge plus for me. Staff are nice and varied breakfast was included. I’ve met some new friends including manager Anoj, who is super helpful.

The staff is lovely and rooms very clean !The biggest bunk beds i have ever seen are that they come in a queen size ! 2 min walking to the beach . Great place and location. They even have a kitchen to cook on ! Came for 1 day and stayed 1 week! Thanks, guys, for the great job !

If you want to feel Sinhala's hospitality try Muru's place. You will be amazed by it. Such a kind and generous family who are always welcoming you with a big smile. Homestay is in a very good location, close to the beach but also its next to the road junction, where you can catch the bus from. Everything you need is in there. The owner is really nice and helpful. I extended my stay for a few more nights. Hiriketiya and Memmos Inn is a guarantee for spending nice time.
