He cooks excellent traditional Sri Lankan dishes and can give you all the tips you need on the most unmissable places to visit in the city and the country. Amazing deal for the price and location. Its about 400 in a Pick Me ride if you walk away from train station to other side of lake. Can catch a bus back to town easily. Family was super accommodating and welcomed me with a coffee and quick chat. Their daughter bakes great cakes and mom and daughter made a lovely simple Sri Lankan breakfast. Quiet even for SL New Year.

I really enjoyed staying here! The bed was crazy comfortable and one of the best I had in Sri Lanka so far! It’s really clean and the provided dinner and breakfast was also very yummy and a lot! For me the location was really nice at the one end of the lake but it’s a little walk (15 min) to the city center! But I really enjoyed walking by the lake! Would definitely come back

I stayed with my mother in this hostel for 3 days. Good and beautiful place. Close to lake and city center. Very clean. Pleasant host. Always helped us. Clean bed, Clean shower. It is possible to use the kitchen. Nice view from the room.

Very clean and nice hostel, stayed for only one night. Train station is a bit far if you are carrying a heavy backpack but there are tuktuks everywhere that you can take. I really enjoyed my stay and the owners are so kind!
