First of all upon arrival to the hostel it was very very appealing from the road, I felt like I was arriving to a fancy condo in the states 🤣 Chavvy & Shailie were amazing, they made me feel so welcome that I really left feeling like I have family, from good laughs to even dropping me off at the bus stop because I was a little nervous - tremendous. I put my hammock up in the garden which the caretakers helped with & was astonishing to simply be in the amazing garden with such diverse wildlife (there was even a local peacock!) I only booked this hostel because I'm a travelling yoga teacher and needed somewhere calm to practice & teach - Alma hostel allowed me to do just that, with excellent ifi and many spaces to teach from whether the garden, the upstairs lobby/co-working space or even my room was big enough. My all time favourite thing about Alma's was the interior design - like wow. Everything was custom made with wicker/bamboo and the interior was exceptionally clean - I genuinely felt like I was crashing at my own place. Loved it so much.

The yard of the hostel reminded me of Bali, I fell in love with it at first sight. All the staff Beenu, V, and many others and the owner Nadun are more than nice and always ready to help. They did everything to make sure that our stay was comfortable. The Bar offers good and various drinks&food. On a rainy morning, I sat there drinking tea and reading books. It was so cozy. Our music night was also very fun. The Colombo city has too much traffic and is very loud, but this hostel is like an oasis. I enjoyed my stay so much and felt sad to leave ;( Wish you all the best ♡

We made a last minute decision to spend a night in Colombo and were drawn to Sesaya Poshtel & Bistro—a stylish new addition to the city’s hospitality scene. The experience impressed us from the outset. After making the reservation, we were pleasantly surprised by the proactive communication from the team. Chalani and Ayesha reached out promptly to confirm our preferences, and upon arrival, they greeted us with genuine warmth. To our delight, we were also personally welcomed by General Manager Rajith, a gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s dedication to personalized service. The highlight of our visit was dinner at the rooftop bistro—a comfortable space with a lively atmosphere. Shenal, the Food & Beverage Manager, and his courteous assistant ensured our meal was seamless and memorable. We started with the Paprika Hummus, which offered a smoky, well-seasoned richness that paired beautifully with our chosen wine. Next came the Pulled Beef Tacos, a dish that exceeded expectations. While Sri Lankan beef is known for its flavor, it can often be tough—however, this version was melt-in-your-mouth tender, infused with deep, satisfying flavors. The Crispy Skin Barramundi was another standout: perfectly seared skin atop delicately cooked fish, complemented by a creamy sauce that elevated the dish without overwhelming it. Throughout our stay, every team member went out of their way to make us feel truly valued. The thoughtful farewell from each staff member who assisted us left a heartwarming and memorable impression.

Great place to stay while in Colombo. Very friendly and helpful staff, they helped us a lot by letting us keep our suitcases there while travelling around Sri Lanka. Place is clean, comfortable and well connected.

I really enjoyed that it was walking distance to most places that I wanted to check out, especially the sunsets by the ocean, was a 5 mins walk. The guy working/running the place was extremely helpful!
