I extended my 3-night stay by another night here. Honestly, you could easily stay for at least a month. Tasha and Kirsten’s hospitality, the location being a paradise, the wooden house I stayed in, and its incredible comfort all made me feel right at home. The place has a plant-based kitchen, and they’re currently experimenting with new flavors. My favorite was the Scrambled Tofu Wrap! It was amazing—I practically licked my fingers. The bar’s cocktails are also excellent. You can watch the landscape from the bar through the sea and the trees! This is a perfect spot for vegan and vegetarian friends to stay at a very reasonable price while enjoying the peace of the island. There are also some small animal friends like cats and dogs around. In the evenings, there’s even a larger lizard buddy who walks along the upper beams of the bar, looking around. This place is truly wonderful—definitely visit!

A true paradise on Earth - the whole place is nicely blended into the surroundings, while being situated almost directly on the beach. We rented a big tent right on the beach - you can literally walk out and hop into water after few steps. The tent is basic in that there is only a big mattress inside and some simple furniture, but still very comfortable and cozy, with enough space to stand upright. The place has its own restaurant that offers mostly Khmer food - breakfest, lunch, dinner. The food was without doubt the best we had during our whole stay in Cambodia - we tried half of the main dishes offered and each was amazing. Staff is very friendly and takes care to keep the place clean and tidy. The Sunset Beach itself is amazingly beautiful, clean, with perfect sand, calm turquoise water and surrounded by jungle green hills (and living up to its name - with excellent sunsets). Picture-perfect. There is also nearby a small agency that organizes nice tours and rents equipment (e.g. night plankton watching, snorkeling, climbing, kayak). We recommend the plankton tour and renting kayak to go see the island lighthouse. What's important, in this part of island both the hotels and the guests know why is everybody there - no loud music, no parties, just peacufully enjoying the nature and relaxing.

The place for the remote location is amazing. They have air conditioning for the night. The staff comes and cleans the room multiple times in a day. The location is amazing.

It’s really great value for money. While the cheapest accommodation on the island, you have everything you need. The staff are volunteers, so very easy to connect with everyone as they are likeminded travellers. Everyone speaks perfect English. So spending time with the people at the hostel in the evenings is also really enjoyable if you like to socialize. The beach is super close - closer than any other hostel. And it’s still also close to all the restaurants, the pier etc. The owners are a super nice English couple who have taken on such a cool endeavor to fix up an abandoned place and enrich the island with another sweet home for backpackers and volunteers.

The bed was comfortable, equipped with a mosquito net and a fan, there were lockers to put your stuff away, toilets were clean and water pressure was good (that's an issue on the island) Mattie was super friendly chatty and helpful, you can go to him if you have any questions. The hostel is located in front of the beach which is a plus
