The interior design, the decor, and the atmosphere are unmatched. Extremely relaxing, welcoming, and gorgeous nook at a very good location for travelers who wish to go sightseeing. The owner is also incredibly kind and helped make my stay cozy and unforgettable. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities were enough to meet my needs. 10/10 would book again!

This traditional Japanese-style house is full of character and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. While it’s not a fully private room, the sleeping area is well separated, offering a comfortable sense of privacy. Sounds do carry a bit, as it’s an old house, but the creativity in the space makes each stay feel fresh and inspiring. It’s conveniently located—about 10 minutes by bus to Shin-Suizenji Station and around 15 minutes to central Kumamoto. The nearby “Gootarian” space is also a nice addition. The area has historic spots like Kengun Shrine, perfect for a morning walk. With shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby, it’s easy to grab a bento or snacks and relax at the accommodation. It really feels like staying in a local home. Free parking is a big plus. I prefer not to drive at night, so being able to park and explore by bus has worked out perfectly.

The two ladies at the front office who spoke perfect English, thank you for the great conversations. It was a pleasure meeting you both. Great location. Subway and tram is directly across the road from the property. Easy access point to navigate yourself around. It was raining whilst I was there. Mall is across the road, restaurants at the upper levels. Good variety to choose from. Value for money. Spacious rooms when you book out the whole room to yourself. Personal in room locker and door lock.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The position is definitely the best for youth hostel. Just cross the bridge can reach the Kumamoto station. The public facilities are clean.

it’s not a hotel , it’s a poor excuse for a youth hostel, felt like a prison , signs all over saying be quiet . No ceilings in the sleep areas . not sound proof at all , heard zipper suitcase in next room. no separation between sexes.
