This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed. The owners, workers and volunteers are amazing people, and they have created a beautiful and ideal place for backpackers. Plenty of spaces, garden and all the necessary facilities. There is a guitar you can use, parallel rings to exercise, amazing breakfast, plenty of hammocks to chill, a pool you can use at night and even a projector for movie nights! Can't wait to be back!

Beautiful hostel with very kind owners and a delicious breakfast. I think there's only about 12 beds so it creates a really nice small atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean. I absolutely loved staying here thank you Bella and Bruno!

The staff, facilities nearby, cleaness, a very good and cost-worthy breakfast and location (particularly if you are carrying too many stuff, as it's only a very few minutes walk from the docks). If you are by yourself, don't speak Portuguese or even Spanish, and love partying, you've just found the place to stay!

Mama Africa Hostel 2 is a beautiful and welcoming home with a vibrant colorful decor and a great vibe. Every detail is carefully curated, and you wake up to the sound of birds, surrounded by nature. Breakfast is fresh from the garden, and on weekends, it’s served at Casa da Cultura, where you can enjoy your meal while reading one of its many books. Lili is an amazing host, full of passionate energy and care. As a digital nomad, I found it perfect for work. Gamboa is a chill neighborhood with friendly people, great for a walk anytime. Its pristine beaches are within a short walk, or you can take the boat – balsa – to Morro de São Paulo anytime for 6 BRL. After a day out, I enjoyed a swim in the pool and stargazing at night.
