i loved staying at mad monkey village. the staff was super friendly and helpful. great common areas to meet people and go out. the kitchen is big enough and equipped to make a meal even if its busy. I would totally recommend staying here when you are visiting cairns.

The Night Manager was very helpful with the late check-in. I actually booked a wrong room type. However, he did changes to giving me a single room.

We loved the hostel. It is perfect for spending some time in Cairns. It is better suited for younger people who like parties, as there are activities every night. They offer lots of day trips, so you will never experience boredom at this hostel. The dinner at the hostel was delicious.

What can I say, this place has the loveliest and most helpful staff ever :). Stayed here twice, and was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted by my name when I walked in to check in again. I had some problems with the initial dorm I was staying in, and when asked if it was possible to move to another dorm, this was done without any problems (and the staff kept checking in throughout to make sure everything was OK). Other than that: great location near the bus station, lovely courtyard, nice kitchen area and comfortable rooms
