Everybody was so nice and tried to accommodate all my needs. The grandfather prepared a great plentiful vegetarian meal just for me and I was able to have dinner with the entire family. They went the extra mile to find the perfect bicycle for me and I spent a full day riding in the nearby villages. The dorm room is very large and the futons are very cozy. Prices are incredibly honest. I highly recommend this homestay, as it gives you a chance to meet a wonderful Vietnamese family. Thank you!!!!

We loved our stay here — the place is all made of bamboo, with a big terrace overlooking the mountains and surrounded by traditional village houses. The atmosphere is peaceful and authentic. Breakfast and coffee were great, and they also offer bike rental and laundry service which was very convenient. The hosts are super nice and always ready to help.

Vinh is a strong and wonderful woman who runs the Hakuna Matata Homestay in Mai Chau. Before I came, she organized the transportation and arranged a two days tour for me. Everything was so well organized that I didn't have to worry about anything. The room is very spacious and clean. As a city person in Asia, I need not worry about the air-conditioning, WiFi, everything worked very well. Upon arrival, Vinh showed me the beautiful area nearby. With the bikes they provided, cycling around the rice fields were really awesome. The meals cooked by Huang were terrific and tasty. They were so family-meals and made me recall the meals cooked by my family when I was a kid. The tours arranged by Vinh to the Mai Chau waterfalls and Pu Luong were great. The trips were by motorbike and the experience were great. All in all, Vinh runs the homestay so well with her family and staff. Great hospitality, spontaneous, hazzle free, family-like relationship with the guests. They set a good standard for Homestay 😄🥰

What I loved the most was the large, stunning garden with a pool – it was truly a highlight. The owner kindly offered to show us around the area and shared lots of interesting information. Even though we communicated through Google Translate, it worked perfectly, and we really enjoyed the trip :-) During dinner, we were offered a taste of the local “happy water,” which added a fun and authentic touch to the experience. We definitely recommend this place!
