While doing the Ha Giang Loop, I stayed at this homestay for one night, and honestly, it felt like the most “home-like” place on my entire journey. This is an old traditional house located near the town, not overly luxurious, but incredibly warm and clean. Staying here truly felt like living in a local family’s home. That evening, I had a delicious hotpot made with fresh local ingredients. The flavors were so unique and special. Sitting by a small fireplace while enjoying dinner, I found myself at a loss for words to describe the warmth and comfort of that moment. I also had a long and meaningful conversation with the host, who is a local teacher teaching English to children in the area—a truly inspiring social project. If you’re on the Ha Giang Loop and looking for the most authentic local experience, I highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!

The beds were very comfortable, the room has a heating and AC, a great view on the mountains and looks newly renovated. We had trouble with our motorcycle when we wanted to leave and got great assistance from the staff, even taking us to the next mechanic. The dinner and breakfast was also very tasty and the woman at the reception speaks fluent English, which makes the communication very easy.

The property is around 1km from the old town but it perfectly works for me since I like walking after eating at the market 😁

Nhà Cổ Lao Xa Homestay Hmong & Bungalow air conditioner坐落于同文，配备免费WiFi以及带露台的花园，享有市景。内部提供私人停车位。 We stayed in a private room with comfy double bed with a net on top to avoid mosquitoes. It also had a light, a fan and a lot of power outlets to charge our electronic devices! There were 4 shared bathrooms and they were quite clean and the shower was hot and powerful! The location is nice, you can find a small store nearby and a silver craftsman house in the end of the street. The neighbor next door makes textiles threads. The family dinner was amazing! With a lot of dishes to try and happy water! The host played traditional instruments and also tried to teach the guests to play it as well! The host speaks English and he’s very friendly! The breakfast was simple but tasty (pancakes with chocolate syrup). It was an amazing experience and we totally recommend it!
