I arrived in Chaing Khong by bus, and Tong (the owner I’m pretty sure!) picked me up without hesitation or charge. The actual property was perfect - I had my own private room and bathroom for the first time in FOREVER and it was wonderful. Everything was clean, there was free water, the bed was big and amazingly comfy, and the door securely locked. I got dinner at the restaurant right down the path and it was wonderful - the staff there were beyond caring and sweet. Free breakfast in the morning then another drive to the friendship bridge to get to the slow boat topped this off. Thank you Panna Kalong!

We loved our stay at Bambur. Our room was stunning and in a bush setting overlooking rice paddies. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet and a short bike ride to places to eat (we tried all those recommended and they were great)and the Baan Dam Museum. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner a couple of times at Bambur which was absolutely delicious.
