A recently renovated guest house in Selmes and within 35 km of Alqueva Dam, B&B Casa da Ponte Selmes Vidigueira features pool with a view, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with Nintendo Wii. Guests can make use of the outdoor fireplace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the pool and garden. Casa da Ponte is such a gem! The rooms are round a lovely garden which is shared with the owners. It's a shady haven, with a pool, and swings and hammocks to chill in. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. We visited a river beach nearby which was really fun and the Casa da Ponte owners lent us paddle boards. We also enjoyed the pool table and the turtle pond.The owners are really friendly and welcoming but also give you plenty of space. All in all we loved it and hope to be back!

At the homestay, the units are fitted with a wardrobe. Each unit features a patio and has a satellite flat-screen TV equipped with cable channels, as well as air conditioning and heating. The units feature a private bathroom, a hair dryer and bed linen. Firstly we had such a warm welcome by the host when we arrived. The room and private shower room was really nice and very clean. The bed was so comfortable. The air con in the room was great too! Shower was powerful which we loved especially after a long hike doing the fisherman’s trail. There was a small kitchen area to use a fridge and to make teas and coffees. This was great for the morning before we set off on our hike. This was the best place we stayed on the entire trail!

It’s full of character but still manages to be incredibly comfortable and inviting. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Gonçalo, the General Manager. He showed us around and shared the hotel’s history, which added so much depth to our stay. He was friendly, approachable, and clearly passionate about the place, which really set the tone for the entire experience. The hotel’s atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and the pool area, though small, is beautifully designed - a perfect spot to relax and take in the serene surroundings. But let’s talk about the food - because it was the absolute highlight of our stay. Trust me, as someone who’s a serious foodie and has eaten at countless restaurants, this is not a compliment I give lightly: it was the best food I’ve ever had. The head chef is not just talented but also incredibly warm and passionate. Each dish was a masterpiece, rooted in traditional Portuguese flavors, and the chef took the time to explain the story behind each one. We even had a great chat and discovered he’s a Manchester fan (great taste!) Every bite was an experience, and the meals are something we’ll be dreaming about for years to come. Casa Az-Zagal is a truly special place. From the welcoming staff to the peaceful setting and the unforgettable food, it’s a stay we’ll always remember. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels both authentic and luxurious, this is it - you won’t regret it!

It is set 20 km from Sardao Cape and provides luggage storage space. The property is non-smoking and is located 16 km from Pessegueiro Island. The rooms are super clean, modern and built with good taste, the owners are wonderful and loving persons that love animals, and the location is near everything we needed (beach, main street, restaurants, supermarkets). We will return here, for sure! Highly recommended!
