I decided to take the 1:30 pm bus from Arequipa to Cabanaconde. It sucked that I got there at 9 pm, but I thought it would be better than having to wake up at 3 am for a bus and then start my hike right afterwards. A few days out I messaged Leandro. He sent me an image of the restaurant menu to order something in advance in case I arrived after the restaurant closed. Sure enough I arrived late. The team cooked me a pizza, stayed open for me, and then heated up the pizza when I got there. The included breakfast was great as well. Sorry that I don’t know everyone’s name, but thank you so much to Leandro and team for making my visit wonderful. I’m a world where many people do not care, I really get the impression that this place does care about their customers overall experience at the Colca Canyon!
