The owner is very friendly and hospitable and helped us in every way possible. The place is itself is great with a good amount of space, common area, kitchen and rooftop. Everything is clean and works well (hot water, WiFi, etc). Bets place we stayed in Oman!

The house and entire village have been lovingly restored and maintained, and the attention to detail and making things harmonious is something to behold. It is like a living museum, but the whole community have taken practical steps to make it work for them and visitors. Hamed takes the time to give the guests a hugely informative tour of the village once they arrive, and with his family being resident for generations, there is no better person. He and the rest of the staff live and breathe Misfah and their love of the village informs all decisions about how to share it. We didn't have time to explore the option, but they offer several touring experiences in the area to suit different interests and fitness levels. The room was comfortable serene and calm with the main concession to modernity being aircon, which was welcome! They also offer a dinner option, which was a very satisfying mix of warm and cold dishes in a great dining space that overlooks the date farm and looks across to the new village. Breakfast is served in the same space and it is equally charming in the morning. The village is easily explored from there and there are several wonderful walks in the vicinity. The chief draw however is still probably Hamed and the rest of staff who have a wealth of stories and advice. Their tourism approach is something that could be replicated through the rest of Oman, but maybe not their warmth and hospitality which is entirely their own.

We had a wonderful stay at Ahmed’s guest house. Ahmed is an exceptional host — welcoming, generous, and passionate about sharing the beauty of his village and his country. Despite it being the low season, he greeted us warmly and made us feel truly at home. He took the time to share fascinating stories about the history of the area, his traditional Omani house (over 200 years old!), and his beautiful farm and fruit fields. He also gave us plenty of helpful tips and recommendations about things to see and do in the region and across Oman. If you’re looking for a genuine experience in a charming and peaceful setting, we strongly recommend staying at Ahmed’s guest house. It was a highlight of our trip

Located in the village of Misfat Al- Abriyeen in the state of Al-Hamra, Al Misfah Hospitality Inn is about 200 kilometers away from Muscat. Beautiful place in a restored traditional clay house located in an incredible panorama. Dinner and breakfast are served on a terrace with a great view and are tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner introduced himself during dinner and invited us to a complementary tour through his museum in the morning, which was also brilliant. He is writing a book about the history of Misfat, so he had lots of knowledge and interesting stories to tell. Highly recommend this place!

We are backpacking round the world for 6 months now and this was the most clean and hygienic place we have stayed. Super comfy bed and good kitchen facilities too. Ahmed is a great host; provides you with some insightful local tourist info which is a great help.
