He also recommended an interesting house-museum nearby that we could visit (and see some demos) and gave us other tips. If you are tired after checking in they can also order delivery food for you. Set in Misfāh, 49 km from Nizwa Fort, Misfah Heritage House offers accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. One of the best things about Oman is how they have managed to make their heritage and tradition an intrinsic part of the tourist experience, and nowhere exemplified that better than Misfah Heritage House. The house and entire village have been lovingly restored and maintained, and the attention to detail and making things harmonious is something to behold. It is like a living museum, but the whole community have taken practical steps to make it work for them and visitors. Hamed takes the time to give the guests a hugely informative tour of the village once they arrive, and with his family being resident for generations, there is no better person. He and the rest of the staff live and breathe Misfah and their love of the village informs all decisions about how to share it. We didn't have time to explore the option, but they offer several touring experiences in the area to suit different interests and fitness levels. The room was comfortable serene and calm with the main concession to modernity being aircon, which was welcome! They also offer a dinner option, which was a very satisfying mix of warm and cold dishes in a great dining space that overlooks the date farm and looks across to the new village. Breakfast is served in the same space and it is equally charming in the morning. The village is easily explored from there and there are several wonderful walks in the vicinity. The chief draw however is still probably Hamed and the rest of staff who have a wealth of stories and advice. Their tourism approach is something that could be replicated through the rest of Oman, but maybe not their warmth and hospitality which is entirely their own.

Its a restored ancient house overlooking the green palm groves and situated at the top of the house the famous Rogan Castle built more than 1500 years ago. Wow!!! The location is perfect, the staff is friendly, and the food is awesome. Very cool labyrinth of a guest house with great views, especially sunset and sunrise. Fun walks along the spring aqueduct systems, my 5 year old was able to go easily. You’ll pay up for this facility, but it’s worth it.

Everything was execeptional about this property. Clean room, clean kitchen, clean toilet with all washroom amenities, and overall amazing hosts. it feels like 3 star property. Value for money. There is a sitting area backside of the property. Rooms smells very nice. Kitchen is very clean. You have tea dust, coffee powder, sugar, toast maker, fridge, microwave and kettle. Room was clean. All linen are clean and new. I surely recomend others to stay in this property.
