This is an incredible place to stay! I have been fortunate to travel to many places over the years and this is one of the most genuine experiences I have had. It is based in a local area, a lot more calm than busy Thamel and gives you more insight into how local people in Kathmandu live. You can walk into Thamel or can get a taxi/bike easily with the inDrive app. The rooms are comfortable, there is very good wifi and there is an incredible view from the rooftop. Nir and his family will really look after you, but at the same time give you as much space as you need to do your own thing. They will make it feel like your home where you can relax and whatever you do, try their meals in their kitchen…..you will not regret it! I thoroughly recommend a stay at peace homestay.

Having come eight times to Kathmandu, Nirvana Kuti is the best place I ever stayed in Kathmandu: Just a few steps south of Durbar Square, you can enjoy authentic life of the city - so close and at the same time so far away from the tourist area. This place and neighbourhood feels completely safe also for solo women travellers. During the day, the street is bustling, during the night it is completely calm. The house is newly built, the room is nicely designed, the lamps give a warm light and the beds are very comfortable. Everything is spotless clean. The WC with shower (solar heated water) is private and you can also enjoy a small kitchen for making tea or coffee. Even drinking water is provided! There is a safe possibility for leaving your luggage while trekking (2 dollars/day). The owner is very friendly, speaking excellent English, he is extremely helpful and responsive to your questions and demands. You can also book a pick-up from the airport. NIrvana Kuti is the ideal place for independant travellers, I am looking forward to come back as soon as possible!

What a wholesome place! The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, warm blankets. There was a family rooftop with an awesome view. The best of of course was the host itself, who was very friendly, answered any questions, open for conversation and sharing his culture. On the next day me and my friends were even invited to join his family for a festival. Couldn't get more local! Everything was good. But don't expect an extremely fancy shower or so like in a hotel. You are staying in place where local people live. And you will find everything you need! What could be better than that.

With garden views, Sunrise Point Homestay is situated in Nagarkot and has a restaurant and room service. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the homestay free of charge.

The homestay was amazing. The view is spectacular, you can see the sunrise and the beautiful mountains. The food at the homestay was incredibly good! We really loved it. And it was so affordable too. We stayed for 2 nights and wished we could’ve stayed longer but it was already booked out. There even goes a bus right from the house to Kathmandu (8:30) and to Bhaktapur (8:45) every day. Other than that you have to walk to the homestay from the bus park which takes around 20 minutes. The rooms were very clean and the ones with an attached bathroom were only built in this year, so everything is very new. It’s still very simple though. But that’s what it is about. It’s an experience close to the Nepali lifestyle and the family was happy to show us their way of life which was very cool. We really liked our stay here and would definitely come back!

The Homestay is located in the middle of nature, they grow their own vegetables and everything is very clean. And you get a nice hot shower too. I came for 2 days and felt really peaceful and confortable. They cook delicious food and made us feel like part of their family ! I was very happy to have stayed here and would gladly come back !
