I would definitely recommend this wonderful homestay in Mulu! It was a warm welcome from James, who grew up in this remote place. Authentic doesn't get any more authentic, I think. He explained to us all the things you can do and what to bring for a perfect experience. With Brenda we had a wonderful tour of the large caves and she gives us all the information about the animals we saw along the way. In the evening they showed us a documentary on a big screen about the history of Mulu and the struggle between the locals and the palm oil industry. It was very interesting! Diana was a lovely host who made us a great dinner and breakfast. She was also available to give us transfers to and from the national park and was easy to contact. The beds are comfortable and facilities are as described in booking. We only needed to stay one night but would happily have stayed longer if needed.
