Very very clean! Pool area is beautiful. Family dinner is delicious! Staff is great. They organize safari tours, give you great food, so you are really feeling you have to just enjoy your stay.I would come back!

Great people, amazing pool. Best dinner we had in Sri Lanka!!! We didn’t attend any safari, because we loved the place and enjoyed some rest in pool there. Amazing place, very clean- you have to visit and try family dinner!

It was the best stay in Sri Lanka but not the most expensive. Everything was clean, new, well mentained and functional. The host picked us up at the bus stop when we arrived and droped us off for free to another further junction when we left. When we went to our room, they already made the tea waiting for us. Also we had 2 bottles of water. Hot shwer worked well. For this price it was really like a true 4 star hotel. The room design was simple and elegant. Even though there was no air con, yhe night was cool. We really enjoyed this place! We booked the safari tour as well :) We had to leave earlier so we didn't take the lunch there. (USD 7 per person by the way)

Lovely setting in a beautiful homestay environment. It was very peaceful sitting in their beautiful garden, and the orchestra of frogs in the evening was a delight. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Dimu and his wife were so genuine and lovely, and the curries were delicious. Dimu organised a safari tour with Sumudu as our guide. Sumudu's knowledge and respect for the animals was very much appreciated. We saw many wild elephants, Sambur deer (very rare), deer, wild boar, golden jackals, Buffalo, crocodiles, peacocks, monitor lizards, mongoose and many beautiful birds. One of the highlights of our trip! Thanks for an amazing stay, Dimu!

The best host we’ve had so far: easygoing, always ready to help; accommodation is great as well: everything is new, clean and in good condition. The host suggested going on safari in the afternoon because it is not that cold as in the morning, and he was right: the safari was unbelievable.

The hosts were as kind as possible and very competent. Same for the safari driver who always tried to avoid over crowded area thinking about the animals and us. I recommend to have dinner there because the food was amazing. If you pass by Udawalawe, you wanna have a stop at Mango Tree House.

The owner was super caring, the location was beautiful, the room was clean and had really good conditions. You can have dinner at the hotel, where the family will cook a very tasty and local meal for you for a very fair price. The place is small and feels like home. We really really recommend this place as it was one of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka!

I stayed in a tree house for one night and it was such an exciting night. The yard of this place is so beautiful and next to it you will be able to find peacocks from the national park walking around. At night some animals were walking on the rooftop. But it wasn't bothering at all. Food was delicious and the portions really big. I highly recommend to book safari tour here too because, since my breakfast was included into the price, I were able to eat the delicious breakfast at the national park with the most amazing view. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly and the picked me up from the station and brought me to the bus station. I would definitely come here again. Thank you so much for making my stwy so special.

Amazing place! We really enjoyed our stay in Hasthi Safari Cottage which has great vibe, stylish rooms and especially the owner is brilliant :) Dasun is very friendly and helpful. He cooked home-made dinners (including typical dessert :) and breakfasts for us, everything was so tasty :) He was very caring and cooked also non spicy food for our little girls. He also arranged a safari tour for us, drove us to the river to have a swim and even took us to Ella where we were heading from Udawalawe. It was a real pleasure to meet you, Dasun, and we hope to see you again in future :)
