He contacted us beforehand to learn our arrival time so that he can be present at the house when we arrived. He showed us where to go to have lunch, and took us on his tuk tuk to the Ella Walla waterfall, which was a gem !

There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Whioe experience is amazing. The facilities are wonderful, very tidy and clean. We visited the spice garden. The staff is incredible. They organized the safari for us, with pickup and dropoff at their hotel. The food is the best we tasted in Sri Lanka. They impressed us with buffalo yogurt and honey for dessert. For finish, they provided us the taxi to our next destination. Highly recommend them.

This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk and full-day security for guests. My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. At the homestay, each unit includes bed linen and towels. We enjoyed our stay well. They welcomed us and treated like we are their own family. The food was delicious and always freshly cooked. The place is only about 5 minutes drive away from Wellawaya town.

The units in the guest house are fitted with a kettle. With a private bathroom equipped with a shower and slippers, units at the guest house also offer free WiFi, while certain rooms include a terrace. At the guest house, every unit has bed linen and towels. A bit hard to find, behind some shops and apartments, you have to go under the building through, well, a short tunnel really. Maps is fairly accurate so just look for a gap in the building. On the other side is an old house which is the Nobel Regency which should have seemed "hemmed in" by the apartments, but it wasn't as it is set in lovely gardens with many plants. It's an old house with old furniture, retro but very comfortable. Multiple common areas both inside and outside. I had a very big room with a huge bathroom which was original to the house and dated, a bit of a time-warp really, but very clean and perfectly comfortable. Good a/c and fan. Hot water and good water pressure. Comfortable bed. I was hot and tired from my motorbike journey and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. They bought me a welcome drink. After I had showered, I asked for tea and a snack, and they bought me fruit and then tea and cake on the verandah. Nothing was too much trouble. I sat and read a book and they kept checking that I was comfortable and had everything that I wanted. I did notice that one of the rooms was small because they had added an en-suite bathroom in a sort of prefabricated unit inside the room. That seemed a bit unusual. But I suppose it is perfectly functional. It is an inexpensive place to stay. Very good Sri Lankan curries and rice dinner, fruit and dessert. Breakfast was also very good. This was a perfect choice for me. I didn't explore the town as I was only on a stopover for one night, and I left early the next morning. It was very comfortable with good food and fantastic hosts.

A good location for a hassle-free stay in Tanamalwila, Mayka's luxury holiday homes and Safari Thanamalwila is a guest house surrounded by views of the garden. The guest house features family rooms. The hosts were very friendly. The room was spacious and price was on the lower end.

Set in Wellawaya and only 28 km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, Hotel Serugahawatta offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property features quiet street views and is 13 km from Buduruwagala Temple and 20 km from Ella Rock. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Even though hotel is located by the Ella-Wellawaya road, the location is very calm. Construction wasn't done in some parts of the facility. But the available rooms were at good standard. Good value to your money.

For guests with children, the homestay offers outdoor play equipment. Cycling, fishing and walking tours are possible within the area, and a water park is available on-site. Bhatiya and his family are excellent, such good hosts and serve amazing food. We stayed with them for one night on their 20 acre fruit farm and had such a good time. Bhati offered to pick us up from Buttala, then we got to their place around midday. This gave us time for a delicious lunch, followed by a walking tour of the farm to see the crops and all the surrounding nature, and a sunset drive to some local lakes to see some excellent bird life. You get to sleep in an open sided building on the first floor, and feel really in touch with nature listening to the sounds of the night. Next day, Bhati took us on a safari in his own safari jeep to Yala (Galge entrance) for a fair price. He was such a knowledgeable guide, we saw loads of animals and had a great time (including amazing food again for breakfast and lunch). While we weren't lucky enough to see a leopard on this occasion, we were on the trail of the alarm calls for one but it went deeper into the bush. We really appreciated going to the part of Yala that we did - while it's harder to spot leopards using the Galge entrance than the more popular entrances further south, we valued being one of 10-15 vehicles we saw that day, instead of one of 100-200 that often enter the more popular blocks. All in all, an amazing experience, and a definite highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka.
