The location was perfect, very close to the beach, shops, restaurants and more. The breakfast made by the owner and his family was stellar as well. It was one of the best ones we have eaten in Sri Lanka. It is optional though, so you can opt out, but you would be missing out!! We met some great people as well during breakfast, which gave a bit of a homely feeling, this was perfect. The room was super clean, the airconditioning cold, and the stay was just about perfect. We miss it already!

The accomodation and hospitality were absolutely brilliant - originally booked for 2 nights and extended for another. The room was very spacious, AC and a fan. The host invited me for breakfast the first morning and helped with anything I needed organising including washing and getting me a tuk tuk. The family is really so nice. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the lovely beach - surfed loads and was provided a beach towel when I asked!

Everything was great. Really nice view from the rooms and the hospitality of the staff was exceptional. The team was very helpful with every request and a nice location with just a short tuk tuk ride to Mirissa Beach.

I booked this property based on a review written by a family similar to ours. And the open air bathroom. We are a family of 4 with a 5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy. We rented the large family suite and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Less then 5 mins from the beach, large comfortable double beds with mosquito nets, a shared kitchenette, large comfortable bathroom with hot water and AC. The owners were such lovely accommodating people. The best part was the location. Hiritekiya is an Instagramy digital nomady hotspot, and Jungle Escape is located in the less developed part of the beach. So we were close to everything but in a more tranquil environment.

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. Location is nice, close to the beach and away from the busy road. The room was good size and comfortable, A/C and internet worked well, the host was friendly and attentive. There is a kitchen and a beautiful garden where you can enjoy the coffee and spot peacocks and other birds. The bathroom has a bath tub which was nice.
